AHHHH! IM SHRINKING!!!!

I did it!!! I met my goal for my first week by losing 5 pounds! I'm also on track to do the same thing this week as well, I've already lost 4 pounds!

Through these past weeks I have learned a few things about weight loss that i didn't know before.
1.Cheat!
Doesn't seem like the best idea, but it works for me. I really get stressed with what i eat while i am trying to lose weight, so stressed that i usually give myself a stricter diet then what i really need. When i do that, I usually give up on dieting and just eat a bunch of crap. This week I ate healthy but had small treats through out the week. Intern it made me relax about eating health cause i had a small escape.
*Warning* You can really over do it with this one, so it needs a little self control.

2. Eating before you do exercise ruins your workout
This is a very helpful tip. When you exercise with food in your stomach, your body starts burning the calories that are fresher in your system. So instead of having a snack before i went to the gym i held off and it paid off.

3. Dieting isn't good enough
Believe it or not eating right will only sustain your weight. Without any exercise you wont take off the pounds. There has to be some sort of exercise to burn the the calories. No workout, No pay dirt!

4. Don't take advice from people who don't practice what they preach
When you talk about losing weight, there is always somebody that asks if you do this it will work. If you don't see them doing it, then its probably not a good idea to try. Stick with what you know.

This last week I also made a small goal for my self to do a reverse in-gym triathlon.
I ran 3.2 mi.

I biked 12 miles

I also swam 90 lengths in my gym pool which is the equivalent to 9/10 of a mile ( I don't have any pics of me in the pool, your just going to have to trust me ha ha)

Thanks for cheering me on as I am losing weight and I hope ill be 255 the next time i write!
Have a great week and stay healthy!

Joy in the Little Things

I was going to write this post in the smallest print possible, but i would probably be the only one that would think that is funny. Besides, what would be the point if no one could read it? Maybe to say that i did? That would definitely bring me joy. I have never been much of a writer, as you probably can tell, but i do find joy in setting a goal and keeping to it. The goal can be big or small. There have been sometimes that i put off smaller goals to make room for big ones. I have come to realize that I need small goals to make big goals possible.

Recently i have been trying to lose weight so i can join the Air Force. I have to get down to the weight of 215 to be able to join. At the beginning of December (2103) I weighed 290. I was working hard and focusing to get my weight down by running every day and eating right. Things fell apart though when Christmas hit. I knocked my weight down to 275 and i was proud so i let myself take the day off. that day turned into 2 weeks. Then i started feeling discouraged, because i was looking at the big picture of the immaculate 60 pounds i have to lose. This still plagues me as of now.

Starting tomorrow i am going to try and lose 5 pounds a week from now until April 20th. I know your what your thinking, that's not enough weeks to lose 60 pounds. Well here is the hook, lets say this upcoming week i lose 8 pounds, i have to lose that same amount the next week.

So hopefully i can make it to my goal of 215. I will keep following up during the week with pictures of my progress.

You may be wondering why the title was Joy in the little things? Well, hopefully i will be a little thing by April, and you can find joy in me! "I am so funny" ha ha

Enjoy Life

As a child one of my favorite games was the game of life. For some it was a game to waste time or spend time with the family. For me, it was a time to dream for the life ahead of. To decide whether or not to go to college; Get married and guess how many kids i am going to have: Even what my first house would look like. "Life is but a dream."

Its funny now to think of that game board and how accurate it was in the order to make decisions with first deciding whether you are going college or start your career. According to the game i am just now starting life. To me this is very exciting! I get to start blazing my own trail! For me I started with going to college, but later realized money didn't grow on trees, so i jumped the track and went to start my career. At first, I was concerned with what people thought , but it was what i needed/ wanted to do.

One way to start enjoying life is by not judging where you are but where you are going. Life isn't about doing everything perfectly and staying on track. Don't get me wrong, making plans is a great thing, but you need to enjoy the journey on the way to your goals. John Elway ( Denver Broncos VP of Football Operations) told Peyton Manning (Denver Broncos QB) that it is  not just about reaching your goal(The Super Bowl), its about enjoying your journey to your goal. John may have something there. Enjoy the baby steps to success. Look at your fears and your failures as motivation and courage. Stand up when you get knocked down. Overcome your mountains. And any other cheesy cliche.

The truth here is if you relax and take things as they come and don't worry about what other people have to think about your life, you will be happier and more motivated to reach your goals. There are no rules except the ones you  make for yourself.
Simply, Enjoy Life.
